I have a Dell Deminsion 2400 with a 2.8 Ghz Celeron, 1 GB ram 256 MB PCi nivida video, DSL 256K speed
"GEt READY " for Vista system check shows my system is ready for the upgrade.
When the upgrade installation gets to "expanding files" (6%) I get the error message " an error occured while preparing windows setup to boot into the next stage of setup"
SO I then used the VISTA DVDs BOOT UP to try a "CLEAN" install and got teh same problem

I boot the windows Vista from the dvd rom,an error appear on the screen at the beggining of installation and says (an error occurwith comiunicating device, well dont explain what device?. I have a Intel Celron de 2.8 Ghz 533 MHz Supports 64-BIT DVD ROM, 512 Mb Memory ,HD 40 GB IDE,
Help me.

AGP is not required.
Disconnect any unneeded devices, especially usb, and try again and then report back.
